The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is inviting the public to attend open houses to discuss the findings of a study on the transportation impacts of removing the Lower Snake River dams. The open houses will be held in Colfax, Clarkston, and Pasco, providing attendees with insights into the study's final report, which is nearing completion.

The open houses will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the following locations: Whitman County Library in Colfax on October 6, Clarkston High School Library on October 7, and Mid-Columbia Libraries in Pasco on October 8. These events will allow the public to view visual examples of scenarios from the report and engage with staff who will explain the study's contents and answer questions.

The final report is expected to be submitted to the Washington State Legislature by the end of 2026. The study involves multiple phases, including an analysis of freight movement by barge, truck, and rail, and the exploration of potential transportation improvement options.
