Spokane Public Schools released an update regarding a data breach that occurred in September, affecting the district's network security.
The district said, while the investigation into what data was breached is not complete, they can confirm social security numbers were not compromised. SPS said they do not store social security numbers in their system.
Once the data review is complete, SPS will reach out to people who were directly impacted. In the meantime, the district suggests people stay cautious of suspicious activity.
