Spokane County commissioners voted to ban cryptocurrency kiosks in unincorporated areas, to combat scammers who use the kiosks to target residents. The vote was unanimous.
Scammers will pose as officials and deceive people into depositing cash into the cryptocurrency kiosk closest to them.
The cities of Spokane, Spokane Valley and Airway Heights have similar bans in place. Kiosks must be removed within 60 days.
