A new initiative called Operation Legacy is preserving the personal stories of veterans in the Inland Northwest through professionally produced videos.
The program, currently implemented at American Legion Post 143 in Post Falls, Idaho, allows veterans to share their life experiences and memories in their own words. Time of Your Life Media, a Spokane-based company, brings professional video production equipment to the veterans.
"A veteran's legacy is much more than a record of military service," Sean Seale, Director of Development & Community Partnerships of American Legion Post 143, said. "It is the story of the person behind the uniform — childhood, family, friendships, military experiences, photographs, accomplishments, challenges, lessons learned and the moments that shaped a life."
Each month, up to three veterans from the Post can participate. The program aims to eventually expand to other veteran facilities and organizations across Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
