The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission unveiled a new mural titled 'Forged in Moscow' at the City Shop located at the intersection of Polk and Public Streets.
Designed by Missouri-based artist Taylor Shaw, the mural celebrates the workforce that maintains the city's infrastructure, including roads and utilities. Shaw's design features bold, graphic forms of graders, trucks, pipes, and tools.
The mural was selected after an open call for submissions earlier this year, with public input considered. The City Council approved the proposal in July.
The artwork aims to honor the workers and equipment that are crucial to the community's functioning.
