The City of Moscow, Idaho, will conduct its biannual water system flushing from October 12 to October 23. The flushing will occur daily from 7:15 am to 3:30 pm across five designated zones.

The city says this maintenance is crucial for ensuring the safety and quality of the city's drinking water, minimizing iron buildup, and verifying the operation of fire hydrants and valves.

Residents are advised to run cold water for 10-15 minutes then run hot water for several minutes after the flushing to clear their local lines. Those with water softeners or whole-house filters should perform maintenance checks after the flushing. If water discoloration persists, residents should contact the Moscow Water Department at (208) 882-3122.
